The Board has 11 members with diverse backgrounds that are relevant to achieving FP Canada’s purpose. Currently, the Board’s composition includes:

  • four Certified Financial Planner® professionals
  • one Qualified Associate Financial Planner™ professional
  • two public directors
  • two directors-at-large
  • two financial planners (F.Pl) licensed in the province of Québec.

Candidates for the Board are recommended by the Board Development Committee. Board members are not compensated for their work, and serve up to two, three-year terms. The Board appoints a Chair from within its ranks each year.

Yves has over 30 years of experience in the financial services industry both in Canada and abroad. He served for over 10 years at the Institut québécois de planification financière (IQPF) in different capacities, including serving as Chair of the Board of Directors from 2012 to 2014.

In addition to the title of Financial Planner (F. Pl.) from Québec, Yves also holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Laval University and the title of Fellow, Life Management Institute (FLMI).

Based in Toronto, Yves is currently Vice President of Multi-Network Business Development for Desjardins Financial Security.
