Providers of FP Canada-Approved education, including education for FP Canada™ certification and Continuing Education (CE) activities, are in demand by those on the path to certification as well as nearly 20,000 FP Canada certificants. In this section you will find resources and information to equip you in preparing the next generation of professional financial planners for success in their careers and supporting current FP Canada certificants in fulfilling their CE requirements.
As an education provider, you may choose to offer education leading to QAFP™ certification, CFP® certification or both. There are separate guidelines and approval processes for each.
All educators must demonstrate how their courses align to the FP Canada Standards Council™ Competency Profile and the underlying technical knowledge as detailed in the Financial Planning Body of Knowledge by providing course learning outcomes and a sampling of financial planning content and assessment items. This ensures a high focus on the practical nature of the competencies as the key driver of learning outcomes.
CFP Professional Ambassadors provide a first-hand perspective about a career in financial planning to students in education programs or candidates attending professional recruitment and networking events. These trained, practicing CFP professionals attend sessions across the country to share their day-to-day experiences as a CFP professional.
To maintain their certification, all FP Canada certificants must complete Continuing Education (CE) activities every year. Education providers who offer FP Canada-Approved CE Activities are in demand by nearly 20,000 FP Canada certificants.
