Exam registration requirements

To be eligible to write the QAFP^® exam or the CFP^® exam, you must meet the education requirements of your path to certification.

QAFP exam education requirements

To write the QAFP exam, you must have completed:

• Fundamentals program recognized by FP Canada
• FP Canada Institute™ QAFP Professional Education Program

You must have completed this work within the four years before your exam date.

CFP exam education requirements

To write the CFP exam, you must have completed:

• Fundamentals program recognized by FP Canada
• Advanced program recognized by FP Canada
• FP Canada Institute CFP Professional Education Program

You must have completed this work within the four years before your exam date.

Submit your transcripts

If you have completed your courses through the FP Canada Institute, your transcripts will be automatically submitted.

Otherwise, you must submit transcripts through your account one month before your exam date showing that you have completed all required courses successfully.  

If you are rewriting the exam and have met the education requirements within the previous four years, you do not need to re-submit your transcripts.
