Awards and recognition

We offer four awards and distinctions to individuals who contribute significantly to our mandate of advancing the financial planning profession in Canada.

NEW: FP Canada Emerging Leader Award

Recognizes distinguished young QAFP professionals and CFP professionals who have demonstrated exemplary leadership and innovation within the financial planning profession, as well as a passion for giving back to their communities through volunteerism.

Nominees must be QAFP professionals or CFP professionals in good standing and be under the age of 40 at the end of the calendar year during which they’re nominated.

Recognizes QAFP professionals and CFP professionals who have made exceptional contributions towards advancing professional financial planning in Canada.

Nominees must be QAFP professionals or CFP professionals in good standing or FP Retired™ status holders.

Donald J. Johnston Lifetime Achievement Award

Recognizes a recipient’s lifetime contribution and positive impact on FP Canada’s certifications and on the financial planning profession as a whole.

Nominees must be FP Canada Fellows.

FP Canada’s Exam Awards

Our exam awards include the FP Canada’s President’s List, which honours individuals who receive the top scores on a given administration of the CFP exam, and the QAFPExam Award of Merit, which honours those who receive the top score on a given administration of the QAFP exam.
