Once you have gained QAFP® certification or CFP® certification, you must ensure your knowledge and competence stay current by meeting continuing education (CE) requirements every year.

To renew your certification:

  • QAFP professionals must complete 12 hours of CE annually, including one hour in the category of Professional Responsibility
  • CFP professionals must complete 25 hours of continuing education annually, including two hours in the category of Professional Responsibility

Confirm on your annual renewal application that you have completed your CE requirements for the calendar year specified.

Continuing education from the FP Canada Institute

Continuing education courses written by CFP professionals are available in an online self-study format through the FP Canada Institute Learning Platform.

 

FP Canada approved by MFDA as Third Party Accreditor for CE

As a Third Party Accreditor, FP Canada is recognized by the MFDA to perform assessments of CE activity against standards established by the MFDA.
