The purpose of the Board Development Committee is to foster Board effectiveness by:

  • facilitating the effective functioning of the Board and enhancing the quality of Board governance, communications, engagement and collaboration, while fostering an effective Board/CEO relationship
  • leading board succession planning
  • establishing and assessing Director qualifications
  • identifying and recruiting qualified Board, Officer, Committee and Panel candidates
  • measuring Board performance
  • overseeing the orientation and continuing education of Directors
  • developing, reviewing and revising (as necessary) Board Policies and By-laws

As a regulator, Susan was responsible for overseeing the conduct of registered firms and advisors. She also acted as a champion for innovative client-centric initiatives. As an executive leader in the wealth and insurance industries, she partnered with advisors and sales leaders to drive business growth while improving client support and regulatory compliance.  

Susan is dedicated to understanding the client perspective. She's developed client insights through extensive research, and by leveraging data and behavioural economics principles. She's a frequent speaker and author with a regular column in Investment Executive.
