Shannon started in the financial services Industry after leaving a successful career teaching High School. She decided to make the switch to work at Kevin R Williams Financial Services as an Associate Advisor in August 2011 and has not looked back. She attained her Life and Mutual Fund license before December 2011 and then immediately jumped in to working towards her CFP certification. In June 2017, she wrote and passed her final CFP exam, all while on maternity leave with her first child. She then went on to write and pass the CLU® exam in June 2020 and followed it up with the RIS designation in 2021. In May 2022 she incorporated her own company, Red Sky Financial, which specializes in Health, Disability, Travel and Group Insurance.

She was appointed by FP Canada in June 2021 to the CFP Exam Panel, after volunteering her time on various FP Canada committees from item writing, standards setting and marking the CFP exam. She believes education is important in her career and is always striving to learn something new, so she expects to add a 5th initial soon!

She was appointed to the Board of Trustees for the Institute for Advanced Financial Education in June 2022 and finished her team in June 2024. Shannon was featured on the cover of Forum Magazine in December 2020, where she discussed being a single Mom, working "Double Duty," as a Financial Advisor through the pandemic. She has also been featured in a few publications with the Globe Advisor (Globe & Mail) and will soon be featured on a podcast, run by the Globe & Mail. She was named one of The Best Financial Advisors Under 40 in Canada I Top 40 Under 40 Rising Stars by Wealth Professional in October 2023. She is a 2024 Court of the Table qualifier for MORT.

When not at work, you can find her at Curl Moncton, where she is currently the President and oversees the operations and strategic direction of the Curling Club. She also loves traveling, or being at home with her son Jack, who she will always say is her greatest achievement.
