The purpose of the Finance and Audit Committee is to assist the Board of Directors in its oversight responsibilities as they relate to:

  • financial reporting and related compliance
  • external auditor selection, independence performance
  • financial risk management
  • monitoring and reviewing investment policies, performance and management

Denise has over 20 years of experience in the financial services sector. Currently, she serves as Assistant Vice President of Estate & Financial Planning Services at Sun Life. She leads a team of CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER® professionals who work with advisors and clients across Canada and is accountable for improving the culture and capabilities of financial planning at Sun Life Canada.  

Prior to joining Sun Life, Denise held positions at major banks in the areas of financial planning, process engineering, treasury and payment solutions, and commercial deposits.  

In addition to holding QAFP® certification, Denise is certified as an Agile Product Owner and Six Sigma Black Belt in process improvement. She earned her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in applied science from the University of Toronto.
