Following referral of a complaint to a discipline hearing by the Conduct Review Panel, members of the Hearing Panel Roster serve as adjudicators on the FP Canada Standards Council™ Hearing and Appeal Panels in support of the Standards Council’s professional-oversight function.

Stuart is a lawyer who joined the life insurance industry in 1994. Since then, he has been employed with different life insurance companies in Canada and the United States, most recently with Sun Life Financial since 2009. 

Stuart obtained the CFP designation in 1999, the CLU and ChFC designations in 2004 and 2005, and the TEP designation in 2016. He is a member of the Conference for Advanced Life Underwriting (CALU) and serves on the editorial boards for CALU’s publication, InfoExchange, and for Insurance Planning Magazine. 

In his current role, Stuart provides tax support for Sun Life Financial and its advisors. In addition to speaking at Sun Life and industry events, Stuart publishes articles. He wrote Sun Life’s Canadian Health Insurance Tax Guide and has published articles in several journals, including The Canadian Tax Journal. 

Stuart is grateful for the opportunity to contribute to the financial services industry as a member of the FP Canada Hearing Panel.
