The Human Resources & Compensation Committee is responsible for assisting the Board in fulfilling its oversight responsibilities to:

  • set the compensation of the President & CEO
  • negotiate, enter into and administer the employment contract of the President & CEO
  • conduct the annual performance review of the President & CEO
  • establish corporate Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
  • review the organization’s HR program and total compensation philosophy
  • ensure an adequate succession plan for the President & CEO is in place

Susan works as Director, Financial Planning with RBC Royal Bank, providing financial planning expertise and training for RBC’s financial planners and leaders across Canada. 

Susan’s career in the financial services industry has been dedicated to improving the financial wellness of Canadians. She has been motivated by this objective in her past roles; whether working directly with clients or teaching financial planning to students at the post-secondary level. 

Susan was named to FP Canada Board in June 2021. Susan has been actively involved with FP Canada since 2008, and has served as Chair, Standards Panel. She has also served in a range of positions including Exam Panel Member and Certification Item Writer, among others. Susan holds the CPA, CMA, Elder Planning Counsellor (EPC) designations and holds an MBA degree from Queen’s University.
