The Joint Strategy Committee is comprised of members from the FP Canada™ Board of Directors and the Institute of Financial Planning Board of Directors.

The purpose of the Joint Strategy Committee is to:

  • share strategic discussions to the extent approved by each respective Board
  • take on selected joint governance matters
  • be responsible for other items as determined by each party's Board

Mélanie Beauvais is an actuary with over twelve years of professional experience in pension plan consulting. She recently joined the firm Bachand Lafleur, Groupe Conseil Inc. as a financial planning advisor.

Mélanie is the current Vice-Chair of the Institut Québécois de Planification financière Board of Directors. She has been the Treasurer for the past year and a member of the board since 2020.

Previously, Mélanie served as a financial planning advisor at the Centre d'expertise de Gestion privée 1859. She holds a master’s degree in taxation from the Université de Sherbrooke, and she enjoys sharing her financial knowledge.

Mélanie is a frequent collaborator with several media organizations – including Finance et investissement – and has led several seminars on retirement planning.
