The Board has 11 members with diverse backgrounds that are relevant to achieving FP Canada’s purpose. Currently, the Board’s composition includes:

  • four Certified Financial Planner® professionals
  • one Qualified Associate Financial Planner™ professional
  • two public directors
  • two directors-at-large
  • two financial planners (F.Pl) licensed in the province of Québec.

Candidates for the Board are recommended by the Board Development Committee. Board members are not compensated for their work, and serve up to two, three-year terms. The Board appoints a Chair from within its ranks each year.

Moira Klein-Swormink is Principal, Branch Development at Edward Jones in Canada. She began her career at the organization as a department leader and has subsequently served as Director of Branch Team Performance; Director, Client Strategies Group; and Principal, Wealth Management Advice & Solutions.  

Moira began her career with BMO Financial Group, where she held leadership roles in banking, corporate finance, and enterprise strategy. Additionally, she launched a coaching and consulting practice, where she worked with various start-ups in healthcare and fintech. 

Moira earned her bachelor's degree in English and French from Western University in London, Ontario, and completed her MBA at Dalhousie University. She sits on the FSRA Advisory Committee for Financial Advisors and Financial Planners.
