  • The Standards of Professional Responsibility, including associated guidance
  • The FP Canada Standards Council™ Competency Profiles
  • The FP Canada Standards Council Projection Assumption Guidelines Committee which is responsible for maintaining and updating the Projection Assumption Guidelines

With two decades of experience as a financial services and education professional, Ryan Laverty possesses a wide array of experience, built on progressive positions within the retail banking, wealth management, professional certification and post-secondary education fields.

Prior to his current role at Seneca College as a Professor, he facilitated the development of the Financial Planning Body of Knowledge as Director, Content for FP Canada. He also led the development and enhancement of education requirements on the path to CFP professional certification for Canadian education programs and he continues to focus on preparing the financial planners of the future through the development of curriculum and educational experiences as the Program Coordinator for Seneca College’s three financial planning programs.

Ryan holds an Honours Degree in Economics and Finance from the University of Guelph, a Post-Graduate Diploma in Financial Planning from Sheridan College, an MBA from Dalhousie University and a Certificate in Adult and Community Education from the University of Calgary.
